Happy Birthday To ME

We celebrated my 29th birthday with none other than the Suttons. We started the day at The Bartels Farm Pumpkin Patch to pick a few pumpkins and then get family pictures. It was such a beautiful day, and the mountains in the background made for an amazing view. Hannah was not wearing her happy pants, though, so we decided to forego any group photos. But we did get a few good candids from our outing. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and then ended the day at the Suttons for dinner and cake. It was perfect. Low-key days are my favorite! Happy Birthday to ME!

Another Dress

My dear friend Carol White loaned her daughter's old dress for Hannah to wear. It quickly became my personal favorite dress, so I put my girl in it every other day this summer.

Right before our move, I got to looking closely at how the dress was made and decided to try to make it myself without any pattern and with a little extra fabric I found. Well, I finally stitched on the bias tape tonight, added the elastic and buttons and VOILA!

Feeling pretty proud! Since it's getting cooler, I'm thinking it'll still look good with a cardigan, blouse and over tights. By gosh, she's gonna wear it! :)

My Mountain Man

Does he look in his element, or what?

Happy Daddy

Me: "Hannah, say 'Happy Birthday, Daddy!'"
Hannah: "Hap-pee Dad-dee!"
Me: "Try again. Happy Birthday, Daddy!"
Hannah: "Hap-pee Bird Dad!"
Me: "Happy Birthday, Daddy!"
Hannah: "Hap-pee Dad-dee! Hap-pee Dad-dee!"

We celebrated Chris' 33rd birthday today! It was very laid back, enjoyed with none other than the Suttons over Mexican food and a slice of homemade chocolate cinnamon cake - which, might I add, is one of Barbara's greatest cakes!

Sew Mama Sew!

I've had the chance to sew a few projects lately. I'm not particularly talented, but I can follow a pattern pretty well. So when I complete a project, I'm just so glad it actually looks like something!

I don't have a picture, but I made Laura a set of dinner napkins for her birthday from this fabric. Way fun for fall!

And then I made this dress for Rebekah's little girl, Haven. She picked the style and fabrics, and I just put it all together.

And then I made this today. I think I'll add it to one of Hannah's cardigans for now. But once Hannah has a little more hair, it'll definitely look great on a clip!

My goal right now is to complete one project a week. Now that I've let it be known, let's see if I can do it!
