Wake Up Sleepy Head

I’m feeling a little bit like Rip Van Winkle post-nap these days.

A little over a year ago I went into pregnancy hibernation. Morning sickness left me queasy all day with exhaustion I can’t even describe. And as I eventually moved past the icky feeling, I had what many women come to experience - a full-blown case of baby brain. Naturally, everything revolved around the growing little girl in my belly and few other things in the turning world mattered to me.

Much like my buddy Rip, it seems that I too am slowly waking out of a slumber, realizing that things are different! It’s taken a while, but I’ve grown accustomed to this smiling, eating, pooping, sleeping bundle of joy added to our home. Perhaps it’s that I’m actually getting consecutive full nights of sleep that I’m actually able to have clarity of mind. No less, I feel a little more awake these days.

So like I said, I’m waking up. And wow, things are so different! When did I have a baby? I mean, wasn’t I just pregnant? I feel like my life is flashing before my eyes. And I really feel like there’s no time to catch up on the moments that have past as I try to come up to speed on what’s happening in the now. So my prayer for today is that God would miraculously slow things down a bit because I really feel like the world is spinning faster than I can keep up with.

Check Out Those Paws

You know how you can typically determine a puppy's size based on the size of their paws? Well by the size of Hannah's hands, she might grow up to be taller than her Daddy!
At 4 months, Hannah weighs in at 17.5 pounds and measures 26.5 inches. To put it into perspective, she's in the 105th percentile in length and 98th percentile for weight compared to other children her age! She's even fitting into some clothes made for 9 month babies because she's so tall!
She's such a fun little girl and is doing such big kid things! Like she's sleeping completely through the night at a solid 12 hours, rolling around everywhere and beginning to eat cereal from a spoon. She has the best laugh in the world and we'll do just about anything to hear that sweet sound. We're having a blast with little Hannah Bo-Nana!

Hannah Cracking the Code

At four months, Hannah is one smart cookie. It took her no time at all to figure out her little spinny thing (official term) on her exersaucer. I believe we have a genius on our hands.

Good Morning!

So far, Hannah has been a morning person, very much unlike her mother! We hear her talking to herself every morning about 7:30 a.m. And the moment we peek our head over the side of the crib, she gets super excited. It makes me feel like a million bucks! Anyway, I took this video so she could say good morning to Chris since he's away. But I had to share the cuteness with the rest of the interested world! ;)

Happy Hannah in a High Chair

Oh man, Hannah had a blast the first time she sat in a high chair. Last night, she and I had supper at Grammy and Pops' (Chris' parents house), and we decided to see how she would like sitting at the dinner table. Well, you can certainly see for yourself just how much fun she thought it was. (And I'm so glad I was able to video it with my handy dandy new iPhone, too, so that I can send it to Chris since he's away on a 2-week mission trip to Guatemala.)
