Our Family at Easter 2011

Words can't say how happy I was to have my family at our first church service. It was a memorable day for us all!

We Know How to Party

I can honestly say that I've never been to a party where the guest of honor paraded around in their undies, sunglasses and new pink rubber boots. Then again, I suppose I haven't been to too many parties for 2-year-olds. But that's how our sweet Hannah girl rolls. And now if you ask her how old she is, she proudly yells, "THREE!" ... or "GREEN!" Oh well, nice try.

We celebrated her second birthday with a low-key hotdog cookout in the backyard along with our friends the Suttons and Huckabees. We're so grateful for our extended family to celebrate life with.
I can't believe Hannah is now TWO! I could swear that she was just born, but I guess time flies when you're having fun... or losing sleep... or both. :)
And here's the only picture I got of Chris today...

Thursday in the Park

There's nothing better than ending a long day of meetings like an outing to the park with my girl. Chris decided to hang back and cook us dinner while Hannah and I played for a bit and hung out with the Huckabees, too. Hannah's really funny at the park. She's still learning to share and sometimes becomes frustrated when other kids play on her seesaw or her slide. She's catching on, though, and we still had a blast running - not walking - all over the playground. What a great evening!

I'm Alive

Our family is alive and well in the lovely town of Fort Collins, Colorado. Though my blog has been quiet since mid-November, our world has not as all we've done lately is just GO GO GO! Not to mention, when I have a full plate and a lot on my mind, I have trouble putting my life into words. So since I don't know where to begin, here's a picture of Chris and Hannah playing in the snow this week.

Little Snow Princess Prissy Pants

It's November and we're so excited to see our first snow fall in Fort Collins! When we woke up this morning, it was a winter wonderland and everything was coated with a thick layer of snow. We were especially giddy to see what Hannah would think of the snow, so much so that Chris and I rushed out this morning to buy her snow boots, a jacket and snow bib. It may sound like overkill, but she's going to need it anyway, right?!

So after we get back home, we immediately begin dressing Hannah to go outside. Perhaps we should have stopped to explain to her WHY we were bundling her up - she was about to have the most fun of her life. But I'm not so sure that would have convinced her to like any process of getting suited up for the snow. She screamed and kicked and flailed around as if I were harming her, especially when it came to putting on her boots. It took 10 minutes to get those things on as I worked to cram them on her kicking feet of fury.

So needless to say, we got her dressed and she eventually warmed up to playing in the snow. But my word. What an ordeal. Chris' parents, Jim and Barbara, are in town visiting for a few days. I'm so glad they got to experience our first snow with us! More pictures to follow!
